International Youth Conference on Child Marriage

The International Youth Conference on Child Marriage, headlined "Strength in Unity, Girls Are Not Brides - A Worldwide Partnership to End Child Marriage," was held in Melaka with the primary goal of creating global awareness about female children and weddings. From the 19th to the 23rd of May 2016, a five-day conference was held at the Temasek Hotel in Melaka, Malaysia, with the goal of developing a highly effective action plan to be implemented in order to protect children's rights and put an end to child marriage through strict adherence to Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education, 5 (Gender Equality), and 17 (Partnerships).

The conference comprised educational presentations on the effects of child marriage on individuals, families, and society, as well as detailed discussions on potential implementations for monitoring, prevention, and rehabilitation from such events. The huge group of young delegates also offered ways to promote the worldwide cause by establishing a network of experts such as attorneys, physicians, psychologists, and journalists.
